Yesterday May 6th, saw over 3000 licensed London taxis descend upon SE1 in protest of Tfl’ reluctance to appoint an appropriate rank for the Shangri-La restaurant at the Shard.
The RMT London Taxi Driver’ Branch supports all individual drivers who took part in yesterday’ drive-in-protest and believes more action is to come if TfL do not engage in meaningful consultation with the trade.
It is the our belief that not only is it the responsibility of TfL to be open and transparent but also the duty of the trade organisations.
RMT LTDB has attempted to seek dialogue with the United Trade Group but has been relentlessly denied involvement.
Last week the London tube network was ground to halt due to action taken by RMT members in protest of planned ticket office closures. This proved effective as industrial action was taken before proposals were implemented.
