Taxi Drivers at Heathrow are no longer obligated to undertake journeys to The Stay City Apartments in Hayes, which are situated just behind Hayes & Harlington station.
The reason for this is that drivers who have been dropping off in the area of private land outside the apartments have subsequently been issued with parking tickets. This is an on going situation that remains unresolved. It has come to the notice of RMT that some drivers have recently received a County Court Summons after they have ignored the parking fine notices.
HUTG and all the Trade Organisations and Unions have agreed with HAL that Taxi Drivers can refuse a fare to this destination. APCOA are fully aware of this situation and rank agents have been informed.
There is full agreement that Taxi Drivers are allowed to refuse journeys to this destination if they want to.
